Golf - The Sandbelt Boom

  • The Fall Line (East) in Mauk, GA is Golf Digest's Best New Private of 2025. OCM routed London heathland through 5,000 acres of Georgia sand — and capped membership around 100.

  • Its sister, Fall Line West, goes full Melbourne Sandbelt — flashed bunkers running right to the green edges, a look never before built in America.

  • Broomsedge in Rembert, SC took second. New owners Baker Thompson and Michael Keiser Jr. plan limited outside play — get on the list now.

  • The Keep at McLemore hangs off Lookout Mountain, 300 feet above the valley. Five holes ride the cliff edge — few inland views anywhere come close.

  • The Roost at Cabot Citrus Farms is the calm counterpunch to Karoo — moss-draped oaks and Rod Whitman greens an hour north of Tampa. Public, and bookable.

  • Pinehurst No. 10 is Tom Doak on an old sand mine — walking only, 8-9-10 the run to remember. Coore & Crenshaw's No. 11 is next door.

  • On deck: Aiken's Tree Farm and Old Barnwell debuted inside South Carolina's top five, and Fenmoor becomes Reynolds Lake Oconee's eighth course this fall.

Music - Albert Hall to the Hollywood Bowl

  • Cream's Farewell Concert, Royal Albert Hall, Nov. 26, 1968. The film's sound is famously muddy — the energy isn't. Start with "White Room."

  • Before that goodbye: the Goodbye Tour through Oakland, San Diego and the LA Forum. "Spoonful" at the Forum is the deep cut.

  • The March 1968 Fillmore and Winterland runs are peak Cream — the source of the live Wheels of Fire, now expanded to three LPs.

  • Thirty-seven years later, same stage: the 2005 reunion "White Room". Then watch Jack Bruce own "Stormy Monday" on fretless.

  • The Doors at the Hollywood Bowl, July 5, 1968 — widely called their best show on film. Don't skip "Moonlight Drive."

  • Two months later they took Europe: The Doors Are Open at London's Roundhouse, then a Copenhagen set Rhino finally released last November.

  • The last Doors concert ever filmed: Isle of Wight, 2 a.m., Aug. 30, 1970, 600,000 people. Morrison barely moves — and still owns "Light My Fire."

Relationships - The Two-Letter Word

  • Every yes is a no to something else — your sleep, your people, your actual work. William Ury built a whole book on it.

  • Columbia research says we say yes mainly to dodge the discomfort of no. Most people won't think less of you — they tend to respect you more.

  • Decide your no before the ask comes. A rehearsed line beats in-the-moment willpower every time.

  • A no isn't a choice between conflict and staying friends. Say it neutrally, with a reason, and move on.

  • A clear no is kinder than a maybe that quietly turns into a no three weeks later.

  • Who in your circle tells you no? If nobody does, you don't have advisors — you have an audience.

  • Your yes only means something if your no is real.

Football - Way-Too-Early Round One

  • The 2027 Draft runs April 29–May 1. Track the order live on Tankathon and every mock on Mock Draft Database.

  • Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith is the consensus best player — No. 1 on PFF's board, 5.42 yards per route run. WalterFootball and DraftTek send him to Miami.

  • The QB class is the story — PFF puts five in Round 1: Drew Mestemaker, Dante Moore, CJ Carr, Austin Simmons, Trinidad Chambliss. CBS has Mestemaker going first.

  • Arch Manning is the wild card. PFF leaves him out entirely, betting he returns to Texas.

  • Best defender: Notre Dame CB Leonard Moore — six catches allowed on 130 coverage snaps. Texas EDGE Colin Simmons is right behind him.

  • The Jets hold three first-rounders (9, 11, 12) — the team that decides how this draft goes.

  • Atlanta at 14: LSU OT Jordan Seaton, the heir to Jake Matthews' left tackle spot in his 13th season.

Exercise - Seven Moves, No Gym

  • The format: 30 seconds on, 15 off, three rounds. Step 1 — reverse lunges, alternating legs.

  • Step 2 — pike push-ups. Hips high, head toward the floor — shoulders without a single dumbbell.

  • Step 3 — single-leg glute bridges. Drive through the heel and hold at the top.

  • Step 4 — mountain climbers. Fast knees, flat back.

  • Step 5 — chair dips. Elbows straight back, not out.

  • Step 6 — side plank with a reach under. Both sides.

  • Step 7 — burpees to finish. Nobody posts their October workouts — but that's the work that shows up on the first tee in April.
